1. How often can I sit for IELTS?
A. There is currently no limit on the number of times you can write IELTS. It is advisable to book your test dates in advance, as seats are generally limited.

2. How often is IELTS available?
A. Most test centers offer the academic and general tests at least twice a month.

3. Where can I search for my nearest test centre?
A. IELTS has more than 800 test centres in over 130 countries. You can search for your nearest test centre by country and territories, and city. To do a search visit, http://www.ielts.org/test_centre_search/search_results.aspx

4. What will I receive after the test?
A. You will receive a TRF (Test Report Form) from the centre. TRF will be set out to you 13 days from the actual test date.

5. How long is a test score valid?
A. IELTS TRF is valid for the period of two years.

6. Will I be penalized if I cannot spell a word properly the test?
A. Minor misspellings are overlooked is overlooked in the Listening test, while you will be penalized for grammar and spelling mistake in Reading/Writing sections. Please note that both British and American spelling is accepted.

7. What is the minimum score required to get into a university?
A. Most universities require a overall score of 6.5 with a minimum score of 6 in each of the 4 sections.

8. How many times will I hear the Listening module?
A. You will hear the listening module just once. It won’t be played a second time.

9. Are all parts of the test conducted on the same day?
A. The Listening, Reading and Writing modules are conducted on the same day. The Speaking test is generally conducted on the same day but may be held up to 7 days later/before.

10. What is the minimum age for IELTS?
A. IELTS is not recommended for candidates under the age of 16.
